A City Odyssey in Sixteen Chapters

On Saturday, 5 February 2022, 16 walk-in readings of James Joyce's novel in German or English will take place at various locations in the city of Zurich from 8:am to midnight. A large part of this novel of the century was written during Joyce's stay in Zurich from 1915 to 1919. All reading locations are either related to Joyce's life in Zurich or to the plot in the novel.

The readings each last 60 minutes and can be attended without prior knowledge. It is impossible to follow all the readings, so choose the venue, chapter, time and language as you prefer in the program overview.

Actors and actresses, university and ZHdK students, friends of the James Joyce Foundation, talented amateurs and members of the Zurich English-Speaking Theater (ZEST) will be reading.
